It all started with a preoccupation with precision.

General Resistance was originally formed to specialize in the manufacture of precision wire wound resistors and developed a series of test and measurement instruments of unparalled accuracy.

The company established itself as a major supplier to government and industry. Government contracts included passive and active components for Sea Sparrow, Safeguard/Spartan, Poseidon, Polaris, LEM, Talos, Sub-Roc, Vanguard and Trident among others.

Diversification resulted in the formation and acquisition of additional corporate divisions. Presently, four divisions are grouped beneath the Prime Technology banner.

All of the Prime Technology divisions have four things in common.

1. All grew from the same "preoccupation with precision" that led to the formation of General Resistance.

2. All are involved in the innovation and production of electronic and electromechanical components, instruments or systems.

3. All are dedicated to imaginative product development, reliable product performance and the establishment of modern manufacturing techniques designed to give our customer maximum value for their research or production dollar.

4. Each provides an essential service by addressing the need for a specific product, usually in a relatively limited market area. Such market areas are often overlooked or neglected by larger suppliers more concerned with exploiting the more immediately profitable mass markets. Each division is a "niche or specialist manufacturer" meeting the needs of specific OEM companies through the design and production of exclusive or near exclusive instruments and systems.

That is how Prime Technology came into being and how it grew. Today Prime Technology continues to grow by listening to its customers, and by keeping pace with the latest technological advances.
